Davido’s single ‘Skelewu’ has been featured as one of the official soundtracks for a new Walt Disney movie titled ‘Queen of Katwe’.
‘Sekem’ by MC Galaxy was also featured on the soundtracks as well as Ugandan artiste Eddy Kenzo’s ‘Mbilo Mbilo’.
Davido confirmed the development via his Twitter handle.
‘Queen of Katwe’ is a 2016 American biographical sports drama film starring Lupita Nyong’o and David Oyelowo among others, depicts the life of Phiona Mutesi, a Ugandan chess prodigy from Katwe who becomes a Woman Candidate Master after her performances at World Chess Olympiads.
The film was produced by Walt Disney Pictures and ESPN Films, and set for a limited release in North America on September 23, 2016, followed by a general theatrical release on September 30.
