Following reports of the release of 21 Chibok girls by Boko Haram insurgent group, CNN has released photograph showing the girls being transported to Maiduguri, Borno State for debriefing by the State Governor, Kashim Shettima.
Reports emerged this morning that 21 of the over 200 girls abducted in 2014 by the insurgents group have been released.
The Presidency in a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the Presidency on Media and Publicity, Shehu Garba confirmed the release of the girls, although their names are yet to be made public.
In the photograph released, five of the girls were in full hijab and two people were captured on military camouflage. They were walking with man in civilian in a single file.
The girls were captured in a photograph carrying their bags, as they reportedly made their way to Abuja, the Nigeria capital.

Meanwhile, there are indications that majority of the twenty-one Chibok girls freed may be pregnant.
DSS sources told DAILY POST, that though it’s difficult to ascertain just by mere observation, officials at the Air Force hospital had hinted that many of the girls returned with pregnancy.
Even though DAILY Post cannot verify the actual number of those who are pregnant, the source estimated that ”at least eighteen of the twenty-one of are pregnant.”
