The Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu has confirmed the newspaper advert for the sale of two Presidential aircraft. In the statement issued on today Oct. 4th, Shehu stated that the sales were authorized by the President in order to cut down on waste.
"The newspaper advertisements for the sale of two Presidential aircraft, a Falcon 7x executive jet and Hawker 4000 were duly authorized by the Presidency.
This is in line with the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari that aircraft in the Presidential air fleet be reduced to cut down on waste. When he campaigned to be President, the then APC candidate Muhammadu Buhari, if you recall, promised to look at the presidential air fleet with view to cutting down on waste. His directive to a government committee on this assignment is that he liked to see a compact and reliable aircraft for the safe airlift of the President, the Vice President and other government officials that go on special missions. This exercise is by no means complete. I am sure the Commander of the Presidential air fleet will any time from now, call you to a ceremony at which he will hand over some other aircraft to the Airforce for their operations."
Nigerian woman who was arrested for stabbing her husband to death in the US has pled guilty to the crime
A US-based Nigerian woman Temitope Adebamiro, who allegedly murdered her husband has pleaded guilty to manslaughter and a weapons offense.
Adebamiro, 36, entered the plea to manslaughter and a weapons offense in Superior Court in Wilmington on Sept. 16. Her attorney said she was able to plead to the lesser murder offense under a section of the code for extreme emotional distress. Now, instead of proceeding to trial as planned for mid-October, she faces four to 50 years in prison at a sentencing in December.
Temitope allegedly stabbed her pharmacist husband, Adeyinka Adebamiro, 37, in the couple's home in the 1300 block of Healy Court in April 2015. New Castle County police were called to the home at about 12:40 am and found Adeyinka unconscious with a stab wound near his neck. The officers took the residents of the home, including Temitope, who was wearing blood-stained clothing, to the Cpl. Paul J. Sweeney Public Safety Building near New Castle, according to court documents.
The couple had been married for more than 10 years and had two children. During investigation, Temitope claimed her husband was physically abusive to her, even while she was pregnant, and had been cheating on her with various women, including her own sister and the nanny's daughter.
In an interview with Sahara Reporters, Temitope's sister, who claimed Temitope was the one cheating on the deceased and that she was involved with black magic.
On the night of the killing, Temitope told investigators her husband had sent her to Nigeria for several months. After returning in December, she had to stay in a hotel near the Philadelphia airport for four days because her husband refused to let her into their Red Lion home. He then paid for her to fly back to Nigeria for a few more months. It was then she learned that her husband had spent Christmas with the nanny's daughter.
The husband later flew out to Nigeria and flew back with her to Philadelphia. As he showed her the cameras inside their home over his cellphone, Temitope saw the nanny's daughter inside the home. Temitope saw several texts and images in her husband's phone, which she took pictures of using her cellphone. Some of the pictures included images of her sister and the nanny's daughter.
Around 9 p.m. on the night of the killing, the couple had been talking and watching television on the couch about 9 p.m when her husband discovered the photos she'd taken on her cellphone, according to court documents. As he yelled at her, Temitope told police there was a power outage, the court documents said. Investigators checked with Delmarva Power, which indicated there was no power outage at the time, police said.
Temitope then told police that when the power returned, she found her husband in the first-floor bedroom lying in the bed. As she got closer to him, she saw a knife on the ground which she picked up and took to the kitchen, according to documents. As she put it away, she noticed blood on the tip and that's when she realized he had been stabbed, the court documents said.
Temitope suggested to police that her husband stabbed himself and changed her story several times, according to court documents. When police told Temitope that his death was not a suicide, the woman "began nodding her head in agreement," according to court documents.
Police also found during a search of the home a photograph of Temitope's husband on top of the dresser in the master bedroom. The picture is of the victim holding a baby with an X across his face and a cut mark across his neck, according to court documents.
She was charged with first-degree murder and has been held in the Baylor Women's Correctional Institution ever since.

Safiya Hussaini Tungar Tudu was sentenced to death by stoning in October 2001 for adultery. The one-year-old daughter she had from the alleged adultery is getting married this year.
Hussaini was accused of having a child with a married neighbour after her divorce. Hussaini claimed she was a victim of repeated rape by the man.

The Sharia court in Sokoto state did not find the man guilty due to lack of evidence. The court dismissed her testimony and convicted her to death on October 12th 2001...
She was defended by Nigerian human rights lawyer Hauwa Ibrahim. Her lawyers argued that Hussaini's former husband was the father of her then one-year-old daughter Adama. Moreover, her defense team argued that the alleged act of adultery took place before Sharia law was implemented in Sokoto. She won her appeal on March 25th, 2002 and the case was dismissed . The Appeal Court in Sokoto found that the death sentence handed down by Sharia law had been baseless.

"I've never change my faith, i am still a Muslim, those mediators only used my case to enrich themselves," she said.

Since that time i repent, this kalimah "ASTAGFIRULLAH" is always in my mouth. The lady standing before me here is the baby i was carrying by then, she was one year old. Alhamdullah now she is getting married this year, only looking for what i can make her happy during her married life. I have been hearing some speculations against me, that I've changed my faith but it's not true, they have never forced me to change my religion and i have never think of doing so."

The police in Kenya have arrested a man, Mohammed Alfayo, who bragged about sleeping with a 10-year-old girl and posted pictures of himself with the underage girl in a bush on his Facebook page.
The pedophile in one of his posts, asked the little girl to lift her top up so he could take a photo.
Another post had unprintable words which Alfayo claims he does, and equally bragged about.
He is said to be the son of a local Member of the County Assembly (MCA).
Following his weird post, a page, ‘Arrest Mohammed Alfayo’ was launched on Facebook where many Kenyans were demanding for his arrest and a petition was reportedly written against him.
The awareness, has however led to his arrest.
The police in Sotik, Bomet County, arrested him on Tuesday for defiling a minor, Daily Nation is reporting.
The Officer Commanding Police Division, OCPD, Jonathan Ngala, who confirmed the arrest, was quoted to have said Mohammed Alfayo was in police custody and was helping them with investigations.
“Police are still looking for the girl to establish whether the act was truly committed.
“We have already commenced investigations. We will notify the public once we get to the bottom of the matter,” he stated.

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday called for stronger global alliance in intelligence and information sharing to halt the scourge of terrorism across the world.
The president made the call in Abuja when he received Letters of Credence from the Ambassadors of the Republic of Tunisia, Mr Jalel Trabelsi and Federal Republic of Germany, Dr Bernhard Stephen Schlagheck. The US on Monday revealed that it is "suspending its participation in bilateral channels with Russia" saying Russia has failed to keep up to it's part of the cease fire agreement in Aleppo, Syria.
According to the US, all it's relations with Vladmir Putin's nation has been suspended, a decision they didn't take lightly.
In recent days, Russian and Syrian aircraft have carried out attacks in Aleppo, using bunker-busting bombs, incendiary munitions, cluster bombs, barrel bombs and thermobaric bombs, which scatter a cloud of explosive particles before detonating in devastating blasts, according to American intelligence officials.
"This is not a decision that was taken lightly," United State Department spokesman John Kirby said in a statement. Everybody's patience with Russia has run out," White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters Monday while addressing the decision.
According to the statement, US military and civilian personnel that were sent to Geneva, Switzerland, to work with the Russians on the Joint Implementation Center for the Aleppo ceasefire will now be withdrawn and sent home.
Earnest said
''Russia had lost credibility by making a series of commitments without any indication they were committed to following them," saying Russia and its Syrian regime allies tried "to bomb civilian populations into submission. Their unwillingness to uphold the cease-fire accord was demonstrated by their intensified attacks against civilian areas, targeting of critical infrastructure such as hospitals, and preventing humanitarian aid from reaching civilians in need."
When asked if the U.S kept to their own side of the deal in the ceasefire agreement, State Department spokesperson Elizabeth Trudeau said 'we believe we did'
“Cooperation over Syria was the Obama administration’s last and best shot for arresting the downward spiral in the bilateral relationship with Russia,” said Andrew S. Weiss, a former White House expert on Russia who is vice president for studies at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace. The mistrust and hostility toward the United States by the Russian leadership is real and growing. It is going to be the driving force behind Russian external behavior for many years to come.”
