Ghana to recycle graves older than 20 years
Due to the scarcity of land in Accra to accommodate new corpses at public cemeteries, the Metro Public Health Department of Accra Metropolitan has revealed plans to recycle graves older than twenty years in other to accommodate new corpses.
This comes after several Ghanaians have been burying their dead ones at their homes and Churches due to lack of space at public cemeteries.
According to the Director of MPHD, Mr Vctor Acquaye, who feels people who died of contagious diseases could pose health risks to those living close to burial sites.
He also told the Mirror in an interview that his team are planning to open up the western section of the Awudome cemetery for development into a modern well-spaced and landscaped cemetery.
He also said that after the modern development into a well- spaced and landscaped cemetery, inquiries will be made to know the causes of a dead person to ensure that any corpse doesn't pose public health threat to people living around the burial site. 'Even after the land factor is satisfied, we have to know the cause of death to ensure the burial does not pose any public health threat to people and the environment.'

According to a statement released this morning by the Acting Director Army Public Relations, Col. S.K Usman, one of the missing Chibok school girls was this morning rescued in Borno state. She was found with her 10-month old baby boy named Ali.

12 days after he was arrested, the EFCC have released Reuben Abati, the past spokesperson of former President Goodluck Jonathan. According to EFCC sources, Abati, who was arrested for allegedly collecting N50 million from former National Security Adviser, Dasuki Sambo, was released last night Friday November 4th.

Brad Pitt is reportedly asking for joint custody of his 6 kids with his estranged wife, Angelina Jolie. When Angelina Jolie filed for divorce last month, she requested for sole physical custody of the kids and wanted Brad to only have visitation rights.
Brad answered Angelina's divorce petition and asked for joint custody. According to TMZ, California judges favor joint custody, unless it would be harmful to the kids. Neither Brad nor Angelina asked for spousal or child support.

The Chief Judge of Lagos State, Justice Olufunmilayo Atilade has granted amnesty to 11 inmates of the Badagry Prisons.
The freed prisoners were among the 174 inmates whose names were sent to the Lagos State Prisons Decongestion Committee headed by Justice Oluwatoyin Ipaye for a review of their cases.
Exercising her constitutional powers to grant amnesty to deserving prisoners, Justice Atilade released the 11 inmates from incarceration and urged them not to indulge in any criminal activities in the outside world.
"Having been informed by the prison officials of the offences for which you have been in prison for a period longer than three months, and in pursuance of the provisions of Sections 1(1) of the Criminal Justice (Release from Custody) Act, 2007 as well as Section 35 of the 1999 Constitution, you are all hereby released from custody today, November 3, 2016. This is without prejudice to any charge that may be preferred against you at a later date; I, therefore, enjoin you to turn a new leaf and go and sin no more."

Notorious masked robber ‘Killer’ nabbed in Ghana
One of the most dangerous and notorious masked robbers in Ghana, Charles Donkor has been arrested by the Accra Regional Police Command. Charles Donkor popular known as ‘Killer’, is not new on the police records, having been arrested in 2013 for possessing one revolver pistol, one pump action gun, and 29 rounds of live ammunition was arrested for the second time again on Tuesday near Pokuase in the Greater Accra Region following police intelligence in an operation which reportedly lasted for three hours.
During the operation several weapons and ammunition such as AK47, an SMG rifle, two AK 47 magazines, two G3 magazines, forty-three G3 empty shells, 188 rounds of G3 ammunition, and 77 rounds of AK 47 ammunition were all recovered from him.
Court sentences Rivers State Chief to 7 years imprisonment for land scam.
Justice U. N Agumoh of the Federal High Court, sitting in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, has convicted and sentenced one Chief Felix Amadi, pictured above, to seven years imprisonment on a one-count charge bordering on obtaining money under false pretence brought against him by Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
Amadi who was first arraigned on March 31st 2014, pleaded not guilty to the one- count charge pressed against him and the matter went into full trial. He was specifically tried for offering a plot of land for sale without granting the buyer possession of the land. He sold the landed property for a sum of N17, 600,000.00 (Seventeen Million, Six Hundred Thousand Naira only).
Although in the course of his trial, he restituted the entire sum to the buyer of the land, nonetheless, Justice Agumoh still found him guilty of the charge preferred against him. He convicted and sentenced him to seven years imprisonment without an option of fine.
The Judge ordered the release of exhibit 22 (A brand new Nissan salon car) to the convict. The car was confiscated from him in the course of investigation.
