When people graduate from school, they hope to get employed with the certificate they have acquired and start earning money. But oftentimes the jobs don’t come quick and sometimes when people are employed, they are paid far below their expectations. Yes, I can burn my certificate for $10m and I won’t regret it. I am a graduate and I have a second class upper, yet I couldn’t get a job. I am now into business. So if someone offers me $10m, I will burn my certificate and I will not be satisfied until it’s turned into ashes. If I convert $10m into naira, it’s a huge sum of money. So what else do I need my certificate for again?

What am I going to school for? Why am I spending money on schooling if not to use the degree to make money? I can do anything for money, except rituals and stealing. Yes, I can burn my certificate for $10m. If I calculate all the money they’ve spent on me from primary school to the university level, it can never be up to that amount. I can’t burn my certificate for $10m because one day, the money will finish. Money can fly away no matter how huge it is. Money is not even a sign of success, but most people think it is. I worked hard for my certificate — I read; in sickness I still attended lectures; my parents spent their resources on me. Thinking of all these, I can’t do such a thing. I can’t burn my certificate for any amount or for any reason because it is the only proof that I went to school. For some positions in life, one needs a certificate. Though it is not all of us that would use it to be successful, it is still good to have one. It gives one an edge anywhere one finds himself.
