A bomb explosion has occurred in a mosque at the University of Maiduguri in Nigeria’s troubled northeastern state of Borno. Eyewitnesses told newsmen that an explosion rocked the university during early morning while some students and staff of the university were observing prayer at 6:30 am.
Security forces have been mobilized to the scene of the attack. Our sources said several persons have been killed, but there is no official confirmation of casualties.
According to an eyewitness Baba Gani-Ali, Professor Mani, a Professor of Veterinary Medicine was among those killed during the early morning explosion. This is the first time that the University was attacked. All exams slated for today have been CANCELLED!
