On thursday President Donald Trump signed three new executive orders aimed at restoring safety in America.
The first order titled reducing crime and restoring public safety mandates the newly appointed general to establish a new task force on crime reduction and public safety.
This task force is expected to develop strategies that will reduce crime, including illegal immigration, drug trafficking and violent crime. Furthermore the task force is expected to develop new legislation and submit atleast one report to the president within the next year.
The second order which is directed at combating transnational drug cartels outlines steps to increase intelligence sharing amongst law enforcement entities. Existing inter agency working groups are instructed to submit reports explaining progress in combating organizations alongside recommended action in dismantling them.
The last order gives the Justice Department a go ahead in utilizing existing federal laws to prosecute individuals who commit crimes against law enforcement officers.
