How APC used Chibok girls against GEJ, How APC used Chibok girls against GEJ,
THE Labour Party (LP) has accused the All Progressive Congress of kidnapping Chibok girls contrary to the believe that they were kidnapped by Boko Haram insurgents.

The party said the ruling APC kidnapped the girls so as to dent the image of former president Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

The party said the wrath of God will be visited on the All Progressives Congress (APC) for manipulating Nigerians about their abduction.

In a statement, Abdulkadir Abdulsalami, national chairman of the party, said the All Progressives Congress (APC) should expect the wrath of God for deceiving Nigerians and manipulating the parents of the Chibok girls.

The national chairman said the government should not claim credit “for what they have packaged, pre-arranged and now executing”.

He said the government has worsened the suffering of Nigerians and if President Muhammadu Buhari does not leave office, nothing good should be expected from his administration.

“The government should expect the wrath of God for deceiving Nigerians and manipulating the parents of the Chibok girls. The release of the Chibok girls is a fluke and an ordinary abracadabra. If by this time, they claimed to have captured Sambisa forest, from which other forest will they say they have brought these girls,” Abdulsalami said.

“I think Nigerians need to be told the truth by our leaders, if they want sympathy from Almighty God, what happened to the Chibok girls. By the time we get to May 29 next year (2018), they will now release all the remaining girls to say they have fought the war, they have won the war.

“But the fact of the matter, as I have been saying before, during and after the campaign for the 2015 general elections, is that these Chibok girls were not kidnapped by any Boko Haram. They were prepared and arranged to destroy the image and administration of President Goodluck Jonathan.

“The present government has worsened the suffering of Nigerians. We have suffered enough, and if Buhari doesn’t leave office, Nigerians should expect worse repercussions from the government.”

Abdulsalami said that if the APC lacks the capacity to lead, the party should step aside and let a responsible government take over.

“And if they don’t have capacity, let them get away from government. The APC should step aside and let a responsible government take over the administration of Nigeria. You can’t talk of the government without bringing in APC. Buhari came on the platform of change, using deceit in all its programmes,” he said.

The Delta state house of Assembly (DTHA) have lifted the suspension of impeached speaker Rt Hon. Monday Igbuya and the Majority Leader of the House, Hon. Tim Owhefere.

Igbuya was impeached over alleged financial high handedness and misappropriation of funds.

FINANCIAL WATCH reports that the member representing Isoko South and the member representing Warri South-West in the Delta State House of Assembly, Hon. Johnson Erijo moved and seconded the motion for the impeachment of the Speaker earlier this month.

FINANCIAL WATCH gathered that Hon. Igbuya will however resume his position as member representing Sapele constituency with Hon Sheriff Oboriowori representing Okpe constituency as speaker.

I Will Resign If Nigeria Continues To Import Petrol By 2019

Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, on Monday vowed to resign if Nigeria continues to import fuel by 2019.

Mr. Kachikwu stated this during an interview on BBC World Service programme, HardTalk, anchored by Stephen Sackur.

In the interview, which lasted 23 minutes, Mr. Kachikwu promised to deliver on the completion of the refineries, noting that he was committed to delivering a future for oil in Nigeria.

On Nigeria’s over-reliance on oil, the minister said the government plans to diversify into agriculture and other sources of revenue.

He said, “Oh, yes, clearly over- reliant , but whether that is dangerous… I look at the positive side of oil also in terms of what it’s done to a country over the years . But when the price slumps, it’s dangerous.

“But we will love to see a lot more diversification, a lot more efforts going into agriculture, emphasis on tourism…”

When asked when the country was going to be self-sufficient in terms of refining petroleum, Mr. Kachikwu declared that 2019 had been set as the target.

“2019 is the target time… I target 2019 . If I don’t achieve it, I will walk…I put the date and I will achieve it,” the minister said.

He, however, did not clarify if he meant early 2019 or the end of 2019 with the current administration’s tenure set to lapse in May 2019 unless re-elected.
When probed about President Muhammadu Buhari’s health, the minister noted that he didn’t know the details of the president’s medical treatment.

“He is in London; he’s undergoing hospital treatment. I don’t know the details of that. I obviously wouldn’t know. But…he’s back in London, he ’s continued some levels of meetings.

“He has a very efficient vice president who is sitting in for him in his absence,” he added.
Commenting further, Mr. Kachikwu explained that he had delivered on all his promises, stating that he made the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, a profit-making organisation.

“I have delivered on all that I have promised when I came into office,” he said.
“First, I took Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) and made it a profit- making organisation.

“This is the first time such is happening. I reshaped the organisation. I removed cash call deficits of over $ 6 billion and renegotiated it. I will deliver on the refineries and I’m committed to it. I will deliver a future for oil that makes sense for Nigeria.

“I can ’t pretend that we’re going to solve in one day all the problems that happened in Nigeria in the past,” he added.

Prepare For Break-up, Afenifere Tells North

PAN-Yoruba socio-political organisation, Afenifere, has told the Northern elders to prepare for a break-up of Nigeria if they continue to oppose the restructuring of the country to address the major challenges besetting it and hindering its progress.

A chieftain of the group and chairman of the defunct Presidential Advisory Committee of the 2014 National Conference, Senator Femi Okurounmu, said “there is no way we can continue to run Nigeria the way it is now without restructuring it.”

“When the Hausa/Fulani people get power, they say the unity of the country is not negotiable. But if power slips from their hand, they are ready to break up the country.

“So, to prevent power from slipping from their hand, they will rather get their people in the military to take over so that the Northern oligarchy will continue to be in charge.”

National publicity secretary of the Afenifere, Yinka Odumakin, said “the minimum requirement to keep Nigeria together is to restructure it. If we don’t restructure Nigeria, it is clear at this point that Nigeria, as it is, is on its way out.

“It is those who are benefiting from domination and inequity that will not see this terminal crisis. If we don’t do the needful, Nigeria, as a country, may not last too long. All the indices are very clear. So, it is only those who are profiting from inequity that will not see what is going on,” he said.

In a swift reaction, deputy leader of the Northern Elders Forum (NEF), Paul Unongo, said the North was not afraid of any eventuality.

“I know these people that are talking and calling for restructuring. They shouldn’t mislead the young people; we are not irredentists; we are democrats.

“If you want to destabilise the whole nation-state of Nigeria, then allow the North not to be developed, because it is easy for the kids to rise up and say ‘no more.’ So, we are saying that all Nigerians should be concerned about the development of the North,” Unongo, Second Republic Minister of Steel, said.
