A 17-year-old secondary school student by name Simi Danladi is currently receiving treatment at Plateau Specialist Hospital after she was shot by a military personnel for rejecting his sexual advances.
A youth activist and former banker, who goes by the name Friday Bako, disclosed this in a Facebook post.

“Rep ID Gyang was at the Plateau Specialist Hospital at 8:00am on Saturday, November 4, to visit and sympathize with victims of gunshots including Simi Danladi, a 17 year old SS1 student of GSS Sopp in Riyom LGA. She was shot on the thigh at close range by one of soldiers manning the checkpoint at Sopp because she allegedly refused his lustful advances.On the 19th of October this year during a protest by the community against the soldiers for causing the dead of two boys, this particular soldier singled out Simi and shot her. He wanted to finish her off with another shot but was stopped by a fellow soldier who was more sympathetic. He proceeded to kick her several times in the face and body. Eventually Simi and two others, Danjuma Kaze and his son Irimiya who were shot on the leg and jaw respectively are currently receiving medical attention at the Plateau Specialist Hospital, Jos.
