Stephanie Omowunmi Eniafe Coker Aderinokun best known as Stephanie Coker is the beautiful EbonyLife TV personality who has graced the Nigerian entertainment scene as a presenter in the show, Street Request on MTV Base Africa.
Early Life & Education
Stephanie Coker was born by the name Stephanie Omowunmi Eniafe Coker on 28 November 1989 to Nigerian parents but moved to London, UK at the tender age of 1. Her dad is a native of Badagry in Lagos while her mum hails from Abeokuta. She attended St Mary’s Church of England Primary school in North London, a place she described as “a really small school where Christianity was taken very seriously”. She holds a Bachelor Degree in Media Communications from the Brunel University in West London. Her childhood dream was to be become a lawyer. While at Brunel, she interned at MTV, Channel Four and Media Moguls PR.
Career
While she was an intern in London, she and her friend came up with the idea of hosting an online show where students can show case their talent and it opened doors for many opportunities. Her first job was in 2006 as a waitress at the Arsenal Emirates stadium in North London. In 2011, London 360, a Community Channel (UK), magazine-style news show, offered her a role as a presenter.
Stephanie Coker moved back to Nigeria in 2011 and got her first job with MTV Base Africa as an anchor of the countdown show “Street Request”. Since then, she has worked on various projects and shows such as Cool FMs Midday Oasis Show, MTVs Big Friday Show (with Basketmouth), Tinsel on Africa Magic. In 2013, alongside Bovi and Pearl, she co-hosted a star-studded Guinness Colourful World of more concert, an event earlier scheduled to be anchored by Bow Wow. On Friday, 6 December 2013, Baileys Nigeria unveiled the duo of Stephanie Coker and Veronica Ebie-Odeka as the hosts of the newly established radio show: Baileys Boutique. She is also the Co – Host for The Voice Nigeria.
Awards & Nominations
In 2014, Stephanie Coker was nominated for and later won the Exquisite Lady of the Year (ELOY)’s TV Presenter of the Year.
She was also nominated for the 2014 Nigerian Broadcasters Merit Awards (NBMA) as the Nigerian Broadcaster of the year. The award was later won by Helen Paul.
Achievements
In early 2016, she launched her own hair line called “Krocket Kulture by Stephanie Coker”, the hair line is a collection of different types of kinky hair.
Personal Life
In 2014, Stephanie Coker featured in Lynxxx’s music video,My Place, which led to the speculation that the two were dating. She later cleared the air in an interview with City People that the relationship between her and Lynxxx was purely professional. In the same interview, she picked Banky W as her dream crush.
On Saturday August 12th, 2017, Stephanie Coker tied the knot with her heartthrob Olumide Aderinokun, in a highly-anticipated destination wedding at the Greek Island of Mykonos.
