The cost of making each statue of some African leaders erected by Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha, in the state has been revealed.
Dr. Ebere Nzeworji, Special Assistant to the Governor on Electronic Media, has revealed it.
According to him, each of statues cost between N400,000 and N500,000.
Report says he was reacting to reports that N520 million was spent on each.
The Governor’s aide spoke in an interview with Peoples’ Voice at Darlying FM in Owerri.
The official said “it was not true that millions were spent on erecting statue.”
He, however, disclosed that government had taken delivery of new equipment for its Specialist Hospital and that 21 doctors were currently in the facility to deliver healthcare service to residents.
According to him, out of the 27 hospitals built, five had been handed over to the military as specialist health institutions.
Nzeworji added that the state government had also instituted ‘Imo Rural Roads Mobilization Project’ to handle 27 roads in the 27 local councils by December.
