Veteran Nollywood actress, Shan George, has reportedly voiced out her opinion on the #Endsars campaign that started early this week.
It is no longer news that there have been various calls from some Nigerians for the scrapping of the Special Anti-robbery squad (SARS). This of course has also generated serious debate in the country.
The actress believes that scrapping the agency, it should be reformed as she stated that many SARS officers have died in the course of protecting the People.
Here is what she reportedly said...
'I’m not in support of the EndSars saga bcos I know how hard this unit fights to keep people safe from armed robbers, kidnappers and other violent criminals.
Irrespective of the bad eggs amongst them. If this unit is scrapped, the chaos that armed rubbers and other criminals alike would cause would be much worse gory tales than d ones d few bad Sars officers are causing.
Don’t forget that many Sars officers have died in d course of protecting the People. These are also people’s family members.
Sars officers Need to be Evaluated, Fit and Well Trained on human relations, but not to be scrapped.
(I’ve said mine with no insult to anyone, say urs Without insulting anyone) Take Note: there are some Armed Robbers out there who dress like Police and claim to be Police.'
