It’s been around 3 years that dark skinned Doctor, Adaora Okoli survived the infection from dreaded fast killer disease called Ebola.
Adaora Okoli of course will never forget in her entire life the year 2014 as it changed her life forever. From treating an Ebola patient to becoming infected with the disease.
Then, a patient suffering from Ebola checked into the hospital where she was working and in the process of treating the patient, she got infected with the deadly disease. According to her “You don’t know if it’s going to end with your death,” she said.
She has since dedicated her life to the research, treatment, and prevention of future epidemics, studying at the Tulane School of Public Health and Tropical Medicine.
On Thursday, she was named as one of Bill Gates‘ 5 “Heroes in the Field.”
