A 44-year-old man from Pennsylvania, married a 43-year-old woman and also her 18-year-old daughter just about a year apart. Christopher I. Hauptmann has been sentenced to prison after he was found guilty of bigamy and some other punishable offences.
He was reported to have been convicted of bigamy, forgery and un-sworn falsification to authorities as he married the daughter of his wife without going through the legal processes of divorcing the wife.
According to Reuters, the presiding judge therefore ordered Hauptmann to serve a term ranging from one year minus a day to two years minus a day.
It was reported that Hauptmann had used a fake name “Christopher Buckley” on some of his documents. Hauptmann had his wife, Deitrich in 2015, and then went further to marry Deitrich’s daughter in 2016 without having first divorced Deitrich.
The daughter was 18 at the time of the incident.
Hauptmann is now prohibited from contacting Deitrich, but is reportedly still married to Durovick.
