Tragedy struck yesterday, along I kel all railway reportedly left a postdoctoral student at the University of Lagos, identified as Fatai Mutiu Abolade and a yet to be identified final year student of LASU dead, as they were crushed to death by a train around Ajayi Farm, Ikeja.
According to eye witnesses,Abolade and the LASU final year student we’re crushed by the train which was on full speed because they were distracted by their phones.
It was gathered that Abolade had earphones on, and others at the scene say the train was hornking and people were shooting but he was checking his phone.By the time he put his head up, it was too late.
Strangely, his phone was stolen immediately the accident occur edge as sympathizers who wanted to check his phone contact to notify his relative s could not find the phone. Though security official s were at the scene, A Lagos State Ambulance which came around didn’t carry the corpse, insisting that the police had to issue a report before the remains can be removed
