Football fans will get to see Jay Jay Okocha and Kanu Nwankwo in action once again as they are set to play in a charity match in honour of Nigeria’s first lady, Aisha Buhari’s foundation. The match is called ‘Clash of Legends’ – because, together with a team comprising of other Super Eagles legends, Okocha and Nwankwo will take on FC Barcelona legends like Ronaldo and Edgar Davids.
aily Trust reports the match is being organized by the National Centre for Women Development (NCWD) in partnership with UNICEF to support the work of Aisha Buhari’s foundation, Future Assured Programme. As one of the activities lined up by the NCWD, the match will raise funds for children.
On how this match will promote their work in the country, UNICEF’s chief education officer, Terry Dumnian said they are using sport as a uniting force to bring the children together and impact on their lives.
‘Clash of Legends’ will take place on March 10 at the National Stadium, Abuja.
