Some of the senators under the aegis of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) were absent as President Muhammadu Buhari hosted leaders of the National Assembly, The Cable reports.
Among those absent were Ike Ekweremadu, deputy leader of the Nigerian Senate, and Godswill Akpabio, senate minority leader.
The meeting took place in Abuja, and had Senate President Bukola Saraki and Speaker of the House of Assembly Yakubu Dogara in attendance.
Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, and Abba Kyari, Chief of Staff of the President were also in attendance.
The 2018 appropriation bill was reportedly one of the key items discussed at the meeting.
