That saying in the Bible , ‘ What is that thing in your hand ‘ , when God was speaking to Moses, asking him about the rod in Moses’ hand, was true for me. I struggled to sustain myself at the University. I have a father who refused to be there for me. My mother tried all she could do and I managed to finish the first degree.
The Lord saw me through. There was a time I went to the Redemption Camp to wait on the Lord for two weeks, trusting my life into His hand.. By faith in Him, I entered for the second degree. There was no work I could not do. I even joined a neighbor to do the cleaning of few people’s houses.
Yes, I did it when I was looking for N10,000, ten thousand naira , for me to write final exams. I am saying this because my family was comfortable to an extent, yet I was left to fend for myself. In one of the houses we went to clean, the owner, on seeing me resting after the work was done and sensing I was more than a cleaner, went into questioning time with me.
And on realising I was an M. SC student at the University of Ibadan but doing menial jobs to keep going, had pity on me and gave me double for my work. You would not understand how I felt that day – having extra money with me after paying school fees so as to sit for my final exams. More surprises for me to show that our Lord is on the throne . HE moves beyond one’s wildest imagination most times. By Divine intervention, I was settled in marriage.
My husband was working but I was trying to find my feet, trying hard to find something to do to assist in the home. I went into simple small chops trading in ‘puffpuff’ and doughnuts.
As I was selling at home, I was supplying a woman in town. It was not much. It was a petty trading. God moved for me one day. The woman, looking at me that day asked me if I happened to go to a higher school. On hearing in the affirmative , she told me to bring my credentials. When I gave her the certificates and within a week, I was invited for a lecturing job. I got it without applying. I want to thank God for His leading at all times. HE has really been my Help thus far
