Kanye West is currently under fire on social media after making a statement which many find extremely offensive.
“When you hear about slavery for 400 years, for 400 years, that sounds like choice,” West said on TMZ Live after questions on his pro-President Donald Trump posts and pictures that caused a dust-up last week.
“You was there for 400 years, and it’s all of y’all?”
“Do you feel like I’m thinking free and feeling free?” Kanye West asked the TMZ employees in the room.
A member of the TMZ crew answered, “I actually don’t think that you’re thinking anything. I think what you’re doing right now is actually the absence of thought. And the reason why I feel like that is because, Kanye, you’re entitled to your opinion, you’re entitled to believe whatever you want but there is facts and real world, real life consequences behind everything that you just said.
“While you are making music, and being an artist, and living the life that you’ve earned by being a genius, the rest of us in society have to reality these threats to our lives.”
This recent statement from Kanye West is coming barely a week after he was unfollowed on social media by many celebrities who were against his pro-Trump stance.
