11-yr-old Carl Adebare Adekola, a member of St Thomas of Canterbury in Grays, has broken records to become the first Nigerian to sing at the Royal wedding.
Carl Adekola, a Royal Chorister, has been singing at the St George’s Chapel on a daily basis whilst attending St George’s Windsor Castle Prep.
Meghan and Harry tied the knot at St George’s Chapel, Windsor, in front of 800 guests.
Mr Thomas Markle, Meghan’s dad, was expected to walk her down the aisle but was unable to take on the role after he suffered a heart attack. Meghan released an official statement via Kensington Palace on May 17, which confirmed her father will not be attending the ceremony in order to “focus on his health”.
Instead, Prince Charles walked the bride down the aisle – although Meghan first made the first half of the journey alone, entering the chapel unaccompanied.
Lady Jane Fellowes gave the reading, and all three siblings of Diana, Princess of Wales, were in attendance. The Dean of Windsor conducted the service and The Archbishop of Canterbury officiated as the couple make their vows.
