The Federal Nigeria Society for the Blind is a non-profit organisation established for the rehabilitation and training of adults and adolescents living with vision impairment in Nigeria. Established in 1955, it is still the only non-governmental boarding institution, funded by philanthropic donations and solely committed to rehabilitating those who got blind at some a point later in life.
The society’s main aim is to assist in promoting the general well-being of the blind and rehabilitate and integrate them into the community. It restores lost hope, ignites confidence and raises champions who can live productively, independently and contribute to the socio-economic growth of society. We equip students to learn Braille, mobility skills, computer skills and vocational skills such as basket weaving, tie-dye, music and shoe-making and prepare students for higher learning in university necessary for job placement in industries or for self-employment.
Till date, the Society has positively impacted the lives of about 2000 visually impaired Nigerians, raising champions and it is extremely delighted to invite you to its annual dinner – The Classic May Ball, scheduled for 26th May, 2018 at the MUSON Center. The purpose of this event is to:
The May Ball Dinner and Dance is an evening of interaction with our benefactors, sponsors and the general public.
It’s an evening of fun, glamour, music, dance, comedy, raffle draws, celebrity blind dates and lots more. It is also a major event of raising funds for the continued operations of the Federal Nigeria Society for the Blind.
