Wife of Nigeria’s superstar popstar, Annie Idibia may have it all now, but she still remembers where she came from and how life wasn’t always a bed of roses.

In a moving Instagram post Thursday morning, the actress and mother of two was full of praise to God over all He’s done in her life, saying she never lost hope even when all seemed lost after her parents had separated.

Posting a screen-shot of a conversation she’d had with her big brother that centred on their early family struggles, Annie who’s been married to music legend Tuface since 2012, remembers walking great distances just to fetch water before returning to a home that didn’t have electricity for years.

She recalled her struggles in school where she was seen as the daughter of a ‘cook’ and how she was always late for lectures, even though she had to attend school part-time due to the job she had to hold down.

But against the odds she rose from the dirt to be a shining star, a “brand that others want to associate with, a mother and an independent woman that God uses to touch lives”.

Today.. see how far God has brought us,It wasn’t easy,but I always knew my life was more than that life.. Thank You Lord For Turning My Life Around From That Girl That Use To Help Her Mom Sell Pepper Soup After School,whose mom was “the cook” That Girl who Had to Start Her First degree As A Part-time Student Cos She Had To Be At work By 7am-6pm (marketing n selling magazine)and rush to LASU Ikoyi campus by 6:30..Was Always late to class.. And everyone just Thought I Was Unserious Cos I Was Always Late 2 Class. Struggled as a model.. was too short 🤣So didnt go far..Tried anchoring a music show..had So Many Doors slam on my face. Today God has Proven That He Is God In My Life.. He Has Taken Me To Places n Heights I have Never Imagined Or Dreamt of..He Has Made Me “Annie Macaulay Idibia” A Brand That Brands Wanna Reckon With.
